Here are some pics of my Ardennes diorama. Kingtigers, a steelwheel Panther G, a 20 mm Flak 38, a Wirbelwind, a Schwimmwagen, a Sd.Kfz 251, many soldiers,... all part of "Kampfgruppe Peiper", the spearhead of the German forces in the Ardennes in November 1944 and still a lot of work. The buildings, trees, bushes, also the streets and field paths are the real challenge but they bring the projekt to life...

A most promising and equally impressive project, Bernhard!
I have been fortunate enough to see some more picture from it along the way and it's going to be a piece worthy of putting on display where many people can see it and study all the details you will put in it.

Very nice indeed, Bernhard! I'm amazed to see big projects like this one and I always wonder: Where do people keep them when it's done? /Mike

Very impressive, Bernhard! A truly mamooth-sized project and it looks like you're about to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Great work!

Thank you very much for the nice reactions! Today i received photoetched parts from Eduard for my Panther G and also a new barrel so i can start building. I still need Friulmodel tracks for the Kingtigers but already received barrels from Schatton Modellbau. They are excellent quality. The size is 1 squaremeter. The base kits of the house ruin and the church are from Plus Model. The whole landscape is my work. The Tigers, the Schwimmwagen and the Wirbelwind are Tamiya kits (one Tiger still missing, also the planned Sd.Kfz. 251!), the Panther G is a Dragon kit, the 20 mm gun is from Tristar. One day i will need a room only for my dioramas. I am already planning the next one... /Bernhard

I have started building the Panther this weekend. The Eduard photoetched set was originally designed for the Tamiya steelwheel Panther but also fits well to the Dragon kit. It is the old "Befehlswagen" kit. This is the final position of the Panther in the diorama, guarding the fuel depot. Photos of steelwheel Panthers are rare. I found two in Walter Spielberger`s book "Der Panzer-Kampfwagen Panther und seine Abarten" and three at Ardennes`44 and another one somewhere. It is the well known tank with number 221 i am going to build. Daniel, i think i will see some light at the end of the tunnel next year maybe.
